i installed sql server 2014 developer edition on windows 10 computer. when installing, chose both windows , sql server authentication , used named instance called mssqlserver. after installing rebooted , made sure service running. however, when brought management studio , tried connect instance got error being unable connect. tried using both window authentication sql server authentication using account , password specified during installation.
i brought computer management , made sure sql server mssqlserver running. brought sql server configuration manager , made sure named pipes , tcp/ip protocols enabled.
what missing? ideas or recommendations?
